What is required from us to have TotalComm setup dedicated lines to our facilities?
The terminal end of a dedicated line requires very little space. Many buildings have a Telco closet from which telephone and Internet can be distributed. Often it is a centralized area within the building with secure access. You would need to allow us access to such a room and also permission to route a single cable from the Telco point outside your building to this room. Often this is already established and does not require drilling. Any action requiring drilling would be proposed to you for approval before work is done.

What is the timetable once approval is given?
Requisitioning of a T1 line to your building requires approximately four weeks. Once the line is available, end point termination to the Telco closet is simple. Delivery of the service to independent office spaces would require a line to be run from the Telco closet to each subscribers suite. This action would take place at the will of the clients who request the service. Once a customer requests the service, Internet access could be provided within a few hours with a maximum time of three business days. We would require that at least three tenants commit to the service before a T1 line is installed.

What are we responsible for once the line is installed?
Absolutely nothing. Obviously it would be advantageous to have you present the tenant with the service option. We will provide you a sales sheet describing the service and costs. It is up to your tenants to contact us. It would be helpful for you to advise us of a new tenant, so that we can also follow up to be certain that they are aware of the benefit to them.

Why shouldn’t we just let the tenants take care of themselves and their needs?
The availability of Internet services is still a matter of location. Not all areas in the Phoenix metropolitan have access to DSL or cable services. The tenant may find that either or neither is available in their area and may have to rely on slow dial-up services for their Internet needs. As a point of consideration, this may be a negative when a prospective tenant evaluates your location for their business. A T1 is a good selling point to help your prospective tenants select your building versus others available in the area.
